Word of the Day Poem: Degust – to taste or savor carefully or appreciatively

Swaying toward you
our hearts laughing with our eyes

Each fingertip twisting toward each other
each nose eager to smell the skin of our necks.

We savor the moment
in remembrance of what may one day expire

We degust each symbol of saturation
the hands allowed to hold
the mouths allowed to water
the hearts allowed to flip

and give thanks for the mutual sparks
of life

we awakened.
